# Can't remove a user from a team

Hi,

I’m trying to remove a user from a team using Mattermost API 1.4, I don’t get any error but it doesn’t work. I still see the removed user in the user list of the team and in the desktop app Mattermost I can see the user in the list when I want to invite a user to a channel for example, but not in the list for direct messages.

Can you help upgrading to the [latest Mattermost version](https://about.mattermost.com/download)? We currently support Mattermost APIv3 and later, so the issue might be fixed through an upgrade.
