Channel Actions menu gone

Summary
“Channel Actions” have disappeared from the channel drop down.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Click on a channel drop-down menu
  2. Look for the channel actions sub-section

Expected behavior
Have a Channel Actions sub-menu that lets you e.g. move the channel automatically to a section for every user that joins it.

Observed behavior
The Channel Actions sub-menu is nowhere to be found.

Other

The docs on Channel Actions state:

The collaborative playbooks must be enabled for channel admins to use channel actions.

And the collaborative playbooks docs say, that it’s an Enterprise-only feature. That’s 100% fine, I’m just wondering if that is a recent change? Or why I could see and use the Channel Actions menu a week ago, and can’t anymore now.

Did you recently upgrade from 9.x to 10.x?

Same thing happened here. We were using 10.4.2, saw that 10.8 had some security updates so we udated to the latest and the channel actions are gone.

We are using mattermost through Cloudron and the 10.8 update happened for us on the 17th of May through this release in Cloudron’s mattermost package.

The Cloudron package has been on mattermost’s 10.x release for a long while. So I’m pretty sure it’s not a 9.x to 10.x thing. I cannot exactly pin point when this happened for us. The 10.8 update is at least a reasonable guess, given the timeframe.

@john.oliver any idea what could have happened here? Is the actual behavior we see actually the expected behavior?

I don’t see any mention of “channel actions” in the changelog v10 Changelog - Mattermost documentation This is probably intentional. I haven’t heard anything specific though.
