# Docker - cant create private and public channels

I installed docker version of mattermost. Unfortunately i dont see PLUS character near Public and Private channels to add any. My config/config.json from inside of contaier seems to be fine.

Hi @dominikp, does changing ``“EnableXToLeaveChannelsFromLHS” to True change what you are seeing?

I changed that value inside container, cleared browser cache and restarted it (browser) and it didnt work.

How many channels do you have on that team?

None, i just started a docker instance for some tests and from the beginning i cant add any channels.

Just want to point out that I’m also facing this issue. I can archive/unarchive/close channels, but the button to create a new channel is not shown. I’m using docker too (`mattermost/mattermost-team-edition:release-6.0`).

Is it maybe the docker version? I created now a very simple demo to simulate the problem.

The `docker-compose.yml` full file:

Running `docker-compose up -d` starts the mattermost and postgres containers correctly. I define the mattermost user/email/password, create a team and go to the mattermost main page in the team that was newly created.

The problem is that I can’t add channels (as shown in the screenshot), even tough I’m admin.

I posted an answer here with a simple docker-compose demo to simulate the issue, but it went to moderation ( **Update:** it’s not being moderated anymore, it’s the post above).

In any case, I faced that problem with the `mattermost/mattermost-team-edition` docker image `release-6.0`. I changed to `release-5.39` and it works now (I can create a channel), so I will use `release-5.39` for now.

It seems like a bug tough (at least regarding the docker image).

I don’t know if there is a more recent version, but at least in the official team edition images, the last release is 6.0:

**Update**

I also can’t send emails in version `release-6.0`, but I can in version `release-5.39` (with the same email settings). It seems the `release-6.0` docker image is bugged 😕

@lucasbasquerotto apologies for the confusion. 6.0 is not yet officially released (this is a release shipping on Oct 13). Not sure why it is showing up as the latest release, but we’ll get that cleaned up.

In the meantime, are you open to downloading `release-5.39`. Oh, that explains the issue I’m having! I saw it tagged as release on Dockerhub so I thought it was already released.Thanks!
