End key does not scroll to most recent post, only most recent locally cached post

Summary

When the End key is pressed, the channel should scroll automatically to the most recent post.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enter a channel that hasn’t been visited recently, or jump to an old post via search.
  2. Hit the End key on the keyboard.

Expected behavior

Mattermost should load the most recent posts and jump/scroll there.

Observed behavior

Mattermost only scrolls down to actively loaded posts. When viewing an old post, you still have to scroll, or hit End multiple times to get to most recent.

Hi, @jomaxro

I had this tested and confirmed that the End key does not scroll to the latest post when it was pressed after the chat history loads earlier posts.

I went ahead and created the following bug report to address this to the team:
