# Failed to ping to DB

I am new to mattermost. Please could someone help? Everything was working fine and all of sudden I am facing this error.

This message means that Mattermost is unable to connect to your local database server. It’s looking for a PostgreSQL server on localhost on port 5432 - can you verify that your PostgreSQL server is running?
