# Full name absent after enabling Gitlab SSO

Hi, we are running Matermost server v. 6.0.0 and today we turned on Gitlab SSO. It is working, mostly - users can authenticate via gitlab. But after logon user’s first name and last name disappears from profile and is unavailable to edit, so everybody is seen as “Username”, not as “Firstname Lastname”. I tried writing out those fields in Mattermost DB directly, but they are changing to empty after each logon. So, it looks like we are missing some info in gitlab, but I can’t figure out what exactly.  
Could you please explain which data from gitlab (DB fields may be?) provides first name and last name for MM?

**Summary**  
User’s first name and last name disappears from profile after switching to Gitlab SSO

**Steps to reproduce**

1. Mattermost server 6.0.0, enabling gitlab SSO
2. Gitlab 14.7
3. Relogin with gitlab SSO - getting users first name and last name empty

**Expected behavior**  
Full name filled from “name” field in gitlab

Yesturday I updated Mattermost server to the last version - 6.3.1. And the prodlem is still here ☹ How mattermost gets user’s full name from gitlab?

@DFC It looks like this is due to a change on GitLab’s openID response. We expect `FirstName` / `LastName` to be included but Gitlab returns just `name` which contains the full name of your user.
