# How to disable permission to modify channels by every user?

#### Summary

Any registered user can modify the channel

#### Steps to reproduce

Im using the free version.

#### Expected behavior

Any registered user can modify the channel as an Admin, i was trying to resolve that issue, but wih no success, sorry if that question were here before.

#### Observed behavior

As admin i cannot change permission of any user to modify the channels, i don’t think that the Free version is the problem

Hi @adamfx,

When you say “modify the channel”, do you mean adding / removing users, editing the channel header, or renaming the channel?

Yes. Even archive the channel.

Hi @adamfx,

Depending on which server version you’re on, there are settings to restrict these permissions, but they are only available in Enterprise Edition.

Here are the settings:
