# How to organize/optimize Mattermost DB

I’m still using Mattermost with only a few people. My Mattermost has 5 teams and the number of active channels is less than 20, even for all users. Despite this usage, I feel anomalies in the size of the database.  
The database size is 523MB, and the total table size is 3.7MiB. Is there a difference in size in general?

I want to optimize Mattermost DB. Is this normal and isn’t that necessary? Or is there no choice but to recreate it?
