# Is there a way to enable email notifications for a single channel?

**Summary**  
Most of the channels I’m happy just checking every few days when I remember, but there’s one channel I need to be notified relatively quickly if something is posted. I don’t want to use desktop or mobile notifications (ideally).

Apologies if this is in the wrong category - feel free to move.

I found [this post](https://forum.mattermost.com/t/per-channel-email-notification-settings/497) from 2015 but assumed (hoped?) that something has changed by now.

I don’t know if there is a feature like this, the issue has been closed with “Won’t fix”, though

You could mute all “irrelevant” channels to not get notified about new messages. If the number of channels is too high, you can create a new category in the left sidebar and mute the whole category
