Mattermost currently doesn’t support native WhatsApp/Telegram-style voice messages on mobile.
It would be great to have this on iOS at least as a first step, with a simple microphone button that allows users to:
- Record a voice message directly in a channel or thread
- Preview or re-record before sending
- Send it as an audio message
- Play/pause it directly in the chat
We found several previous requests for voice messages, as well as issues around the existing voice plugin not working properly on Android.
Given that voice messages are now a common communication feature in other messaging apps, would native iOS voice messages be something Mattermost could consider adding to the roadmap?
