# No sounds for notification of new messages

Installing Mattermost on QNAP ver. 5.0.0.10. Windows ver. 5.1.1 Problem: There is no new message notification sound.

In the browser, the sounds are only there when I switch tabs

What browser in what version are you using? The desktop app heavily relies on browser components, so security settings might be related here.  
So to summarize: If the tab is active in your browser, you can hear the notification sounds, but if you switch to a different tab, you cannot hear them anymore?

Yes. For me the notification sounds seem “queued”. As in if I switch from a non-mattermost tab to the mattermost tab, the sound for an event that happend while I was in the other tab plays.

My Browser is Chrome 105.0.5195.102, the server is 7.1.2 (Enterprise Edition).
