Hello it seems Mattermost only use Notification API:
it allows to have a desktop notification

is their a plan to use push API, I think that way we could receive notification even with browser’s tab closed

Hi @bodtx, I don’t think that’s planned at the moment, but please feel free to [open a feature request](http://www.mattermost.org/feature-ideas/) on it.

Right now we only do browser notifications, desktop notifications if you are using our desktop apps, and push notifications for Android/iOS if you have a push notification server set up.
