The Entry message limit applies across all channels, but the edition also unlocks a broader range of features to explore at no cost.

Long-standing enterprise features such as LDAP and SAML have always required a paid edition.

As noted in our August update (https://forum.mattermost.com/t/mattermost-v11-changes-in-free-offerings/25126), GitLab SSO was made available through the GitLab Omnibus distribution, which is now being discontinued.

The free Team Edition remains fully open source, has no hard user cap, and continues to serve many smaller teams effectively.
