I have been updating Mattermost since 2018 with downloading the latest tar ball.
Now I see that there is a Mattermost Server PPA repository.
Can I use this to update our installation? We are using MySQL on Ubuntu 24.04.

Are you aware that support for mysql databases will end soon?
I don’t have experience with Mattermost’s repo packages, but in my experience it’s rather “dangerous” to mix installation methods. So in my opinion the best way would be to install a new instance with the package and migrate the data from the old instance
