The posted data is written to a database (I used postgresql) file, but is that data encrypted?
No, Mattermost does not encrypt posts in the database and there’s also no configuration option to do so at the moment. There are 3rd party plugins out there that support post encryption, but they do limit the available features of Mattermost then so there’s nothing I can recommend.
So that, the posted content can be viewed by any database administrator doesn’t it?
Yes, this is currently the case, the db admin can read the posts.
I understood we should all refrain from posting anything confidential.
