Cannot login mattermost with email address - forced to gitlab

Hi,
I have a gitlab account and it seems that I can login in Mattermost only with that. At the same time when I accept to use my gitlab account this is the message I get:

E’ già presente un account associato a questo indirizzo email per l’accesso con un altro servizio diverso da gitlab. Effettua login via email.

that means that an other account associated to this email is present…suggestion is to login with email, but this is not presented as an option at the starting login page… Could you help me to solve this?

Hi @MarcellaL! Welcome to the Mattermost forums! It looks like your Mattermost account was originally created with a different login method using the same email. Try using the “Forgot Password” option to log in via email. If email login isn’t available, your admin may need to enable it or merge the accounts.
