We’re exploring more capabilities that can support our customers who have strict requirements for the protection of information. In mission-critical operations, ensuring this kind of information is clearly identified and shared with the right audience is paramount. For this preview, we’re highlighting two new capabilities we’re looking at that enable channel admins to accomplish this: channel property labels and channel banners.

Channel property labels
With this new feature, we can set properties on a channel to help classify, identify, and organize channels. These properties can optionally be visible in the channel header. This enables Channel admins to define things like classification levels, impact level, or other types of categorizations for channels in the workspace. In the future, this information could then be used to group, search, or organize channels.
Channel banners
Currently, we have the announcement banner feature which displays a notice banner across the entire workspace. This may not always be flexible enough and a need has been identified to have a similar banner that is specific to each individual channel.
With this new channel banner feature, we can set a highly visible banner that displays only in the specified channel. The banner’s text and color can be customized for each channel. This allows for more visible, channel-specific, descriptive notices. The banner can toggled on and off as a temporary notice for a channel or it could be left on as more permanent notice.
Channel settings for properties and banners
In a new channel settings modal, you will find two new sections to accommodate for these new features.
Within the Channel Properties section, admins can add and edit properties and choose which ones should be visible in the channel header.
With the Channel Banners section, fields are provided to edit the banner’s text and color in order to customize as needed.
