Is there a way to approve registrations manually?

We are thinking to create some “public access” teams, but we feel more comfortable if we can approve/deny registrations, to avoid spam and so…

Can I achieve this on Mattermost?

I believe there isn’t a way to do that specifically, but there are different settings you can enable/disable to change permissions, e.g.:
