Summary
Time Zone Awareness Removal

Steps to reproduce
Using Mattermost 10. Can’t find an option to remove the Time Zone / Late Night warning.

Expected behavior
Introduced in Mattermost 10, which I just installed, after 10 PM there is a warning displayed above the text box, where a user enters messages in the chat.

The text of the warning is:

"The time for {USERNAME} is: {CURRENT_TIME_AFTER_10_PM}

Observed behavior
I find no option to remove this. Currently it’s not needed and annoying.

Yes, this is incredibly annoying… At best it could be optional. And why an arbitrary time of 10pm?

Why do I need to know the time for someone in my timezone… I can figure that out for myself.

Let’s hope it gets removed in the next release!

@alexst @nplawes IMO this is a very reasonable request. I’ve raised it with our product team. They don’t think it’s a big deal to implement, so hopefully we’ll see it soon! If I get any more info I’ll try to remember to update this thread.
