I’ve singed up for the newsletter a while ago, but it seems that since I did not sign up for the blog updates I actually did not get any release announcements yet. I"m doing some deb/rpm packaging four our company and by coincidence yesterday only noticed the 4.0.3 update. Digging around for upcoming releases also showed a 4.1.0 rc1 and a “hidden” 4.1.0 rc2 (no announcement anywhere, but downloadable if you adjust the url).
How can I keep up to date with Mattermost releases? Is there a rss feed somewhere?
Honestly the fastest way to know about what is going on around would be to be present in the Developer`s channel on https://pre-release.mattermost.com/ however the twitter https://twitter.com/mattermosthq seems pretty close(doesn’t list RC2 yet) to the latest news about it, but there is a lot of other stuff around in it.
To explain a bit for those not aware, RC are release candidates, which are BETA that have potential as final product, unless substantial bugs are found.
I’ve asked @lindy about it, she said that the newsletter will mostly tell about releases and security patches, regards your goal.
I’ve also quoted them on what would be the best place to get notified about what you want and will update here once they reply, or perhaps they will reply directly instead
Hopefully MM staff might provide a better information on that, that I can provide you with.
@fbartels, two other good channels to join on this server are the Release Checklist and Release Discussion channels. Here you will find up-to-date information about everything release-related.
Once you’ve created an account on Pre-release, you can join channels by clicking the More... link at the foot of the PUBLIC CHANNELS list.
thanks for both of your replies. I actually did not check if there is a rss feed behind the blog, just added it to my feedreader. Additionally i have joined the mentioned channels and added a mention trigger to the word “release”.
