We use Mattermost in my team and I think it’s a great product! Today I was trying to do something that I personally thought was very basic and should exist in every messaging app, but found out Mattermost does not support it. I have created a private channel in my organisation and I wanted to invite certain colleagues in the private channel on a voluntary basis. The simplest way to do this would be to generate an invite link and share it only with other people in my organisation. To my surprise, this is not possible with Mattermost. Instead, I have to manually add people to this private channel. What I’m resorting to is asking colleagues to message me privately, and only then add them to the channel manually. This feels like a huge waste of time. Has this feature been discussed before? Is there any particular reason why it’s not available already, given that I know I can invite external people into my organisation via invite link for example?
