Since your support doesn’t have an option for, “Bug/Suggestion” I have to do it here!
This is a major accessibility issue.
Your notification system for DM’s needs work, please. I have ADHD and we use Mattermost for team communications. I have all available Notifications turned off for a DM, I have everything that I can on silent. My issue is that MM forces you to “Follow” every thread in a DM. I am *constantly* checking “Unfollow” on threads that are not relevant to me and I am CONSTANTLY being added back to those threads by mattermost anytime anyone chats in the thread.
This feature sucks so much and there’s no way to turn it off. Half of the time hitting “Unfollow” doesn’t even work.
I have selected “Urgent” and I mean it. Your own system says, “Urgent: Widespread User Impact on Business Operations” Which could not be more accurate. I am constantly being pulled away from my work by unnecessary notifications and the context switching is killing my productivity.
All I’m asking for is the ability to not auto-follow every-single-thread in a DM. Obviously if someone @'s me I’d like to be notified but otherwise MM should not automatically make me follow threads. Programs should work for us not against us.
