Display issue summary from Gitlab

We have a working mattermost hosted by out own Gitlab CE docker image.

Mattermost Version: 5.2.2
Database Schema Version: 5.2.0
Database: postgres

and

GitLab Community Edition 11.3.6 3c1fdf6

When typing “i also created #7” in a mattermost message, I get the following in the chat

If i click the “Sign in” link I am taken to the gitlab issue page to the relevant issue.

How do I set up mattermost and gitlab to display a summary of the issue instead of the “Sign in” box?
