Inconsistent keyboard shortcuts totally confusing users

Expected:

  • When I am writing a new post, select text, and use CTRL+K it helps me add a hyperlink to selected text.
  • When I am editing a post I wrote, select text, and use CTRL+K it helps me add a hyperlink to selected text.

Observed:

  • When I am editing a post I wrote, select text, and use CTRL+K it brings up the channel switcher

I found out a non-technical user was unable to fix a broken link because they couldn’t understand markdown (no end user help) and because we changed what are otherwise standard keyboard shortcuts in other apps.
