MatterMost 5.11 Client never connects

We’ve been running MatterMost for several years now. Today, I tested the 5.11.0 Windows client on my computer before releasing to coworkers. But once run, the initial connection window just spins and it never connects.

Re-installed Windows client 5.10.2, and it’s all back to working.

Nothing else changed between the upgrade to 5.11.0, or the downgrade back to 5.10.2.

MatterMost Server is 10.3.0
Windows version 10 Pro 22H2

Thanks

Hi,
Same issue on windows 11 with 5.11 client and server version 6.0.0

@AmaZili 6.0.0 is hopelessly out of date, and I’d expect issues with it and a new client. I’d strongly urge you to update ASAP… Upgrade Mattermost Server - Mattermost documentation

You’ll want to upgrade to 6.3.10 (the first ESR after 6.0.0), then 7.1.9, then 7.8.15, then 8.1.13, then 9.5.13, then 9.11.8 You can find all previous versions at Version archive - Mattermost documentation

You can map supported server / desktop app matches at Desktop releases - Mattermost documentation

@MGatWG I’m asking about your issue. It’s a supported combo, but…

Any chance you could try with 10.4.2 and 5.11.0?

Hello John,

I suppose I should have tried that first. The problem with the 5.11.0 client was resolved when I upgraded the server to 10.4.2. Thanks for the response.

For anyone else who runs into this, it was suggested to do View > Clear Data for Current Server

Hi John,

Thanks for your replay, we plan to upgrade to a new version, but we will also have to migrate from a preview docker container to an in-house linux installation.
The migration path you gave will anyway be usefull for the docker installation before moving to new server.

We may post on another thread in case we need.
