Hello!
I have a question about: Mattermost v11 Changes in Free Offerings
I administrate a Mattermost server using the docker container mattermost/mattermost-enterprise-edition and we are using this as the “free edition” so without importing a license. I created a local instance of Mattermost using the mattermost/mattermost-enterprise-edition:11.0.2 and found that the new user limit of 250 was not enforced. Using the mattermost/mattermost-preview:11.0.2 image in comparison I did encounter the ERROR_SAFETY_LIMITS_EXCEEDED error ( Mattermost error codes - Mattermost documentation ) after creating 250 users, and I was unable to create any more.
Would the changes to Mattermost Entry and Mattermost Team Edition effect those who are using `mattermost/mattermost-enterprise-edition` docker container in the “Free Edition” for v11?
These changes DO NOT affect the Mattermost open source project, which remains under the same AGPLv3 license it has used since 2015. Community members can continue to compile, use, and contribute to the project as always.
What would the options be for users who wanted to use the open source project instead? Would they build the docker containers themselves from source, and will the open source project continue to get security patches at a regular interval?
We love Mattermost and are concerned that we will not be able to use it as our organization continues to grow above 250 users.
Thank you!
