Hi, I’m evaluating Mattermost for use at a Printing company. Printers are considered to be manufacturing and a job shop. Mattermost will be used in the Office, not out on the manufacturing floor, at least for now.
A job shop assigns a number to each and every job that comes through. A job can be one-time or it can repeat on a set frequency such as weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly. Each time that job comes in, it receives a unique number.
Now, if we were to use Mattermost, I would really like to ‘group’ all communication under that job number.
Currently we use email, and some users will add the job number into their email (subject or body), and others do not. And of course, with email you may or may not include people who should really be aware of your conversation. Such as a question/answer exchange, but instead of two people, 8 people need to know about it.
So my question is this, how would the workflow go within Mattermost? Would i need to create a channel with the job number, and then everyone posts there, or ???
I appreciate any help, insight, or suggestions.
