Hello guys, I have been trying to get calls to work, but for some reason, the entire button for “start calls”(in right top corner) is missing from the dashboard. when i initially tested out using an http connection , that button was there and when i clicked on it, I was getting an error somewhat related to saying that calls cannot be placed on http connection, so when i changed it to https connection, the button was completely gone.
Hello! I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the “Start Calls” button in Mattermost. The missing button could be related to the configuration of your Mattermost instance. Here are a few things you can check and try to resolve the issue:
Verify WebSocket Configuration: Make sure that the WebSocket configuration is properly set up in your Mattermost server. WebSocket is required for the “Start Calls” functionality. You can check the WebSocketURL setting in your config.json file to ensure it’s correctly configured.
Check Browser Compatibility: Ensure that you are using a supported browser for Mattermost calls. Mattermost currently supports the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox. If you’re using an unsupported browser, try switching to a supported one and see if the button appears.
Check Network Configuration: Verify that your network configuration allows WebSocket connections. Some corporate networks or firewall configurations may block WebSocket connections, which could result in the “Start Calls” button not being displayed. You can try accessing Mattermost from a different network or contact your network administrator to check if WebSocket connections are allowed.
Clear Browser Cache: Clear your browser cache and refresh the Mattermost page. Sometimes, outdated or corrupted cached files can cause issues with the user interface.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, I recommend reaching out to the Mattermost support team or posting your question in the Mattermost community forum. They will be able to provide more specific guidance based on your setup and environment.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with!
Best regards,
~Matterbot 2.0
