Login to server stuck in "awaiting valid token"

Summary
In the login phase, I get redirected to the SSO browser page, I successfully login, the “Launch desktop app” button appears, but the app is stuck in the “Redirecting to browser…/Authenticating in the browser, awaiting valid token” screen

Steps to reproduce
System: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS. App: 5.12.0, installed via App Center

Expected behavior
After login I expect the desktop app to open my personal space after clicking “Launch desktop app”.

Observed behavior
The app is stuck in the “Redirecting to browser…/Authenticating in the browser, awaiting valid token” screen. The browser version works fine. I have had no issues before the latest update (22/5/25).

What version is the server? SSO is a feature of a paid license, so you or the admin(s) of the instance can open a support case.

Mattermost Version: 9.11.16
Database Schema Version: 135
do you suggest opening a ticket with the server admin? It seems more like an issue related to the latest update
