Not Registering In Mac Notifications Center

Summary
Mattermost 4.7.2 will not register with the notification center.

Steps to reproduce
Installed, launched, asked another user to message me. Never received the mac system notification to allow or disallow notifications. Tried removing entries from the users com.apple.ncprefs.plist file with no luck. Completely removed the file and all other apps re-prompted to allow or disallow notifications, however mattermost still did not.

Expected behavior
A prompt to allow or disallow notifications upon first launch or first message.

Observed behavior
Simply doesn’t work.

Any ideas?

Update: A user whom had not yet sent me a previous message pinged me and it generated the allow or disallow prompt. Odd that it had to be another user.
