[Solved] "No matcching server" error when clicking "View in Desktop App

Summary
After clicking “View in Desktop” button, I get a “No matching server” error.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a Mattermost login page for the first time

  2. Click “View in Desktop” button

  3. The desktop app opens, but with an error, “Not matching server”

Expected behavior
I expect that the desktop app will show the login page.

Observed behavior
I’m seeing the error, “No matching server” with a message:

There is no configured server in the app that matches the requested url: mattermost://oscnlchat.nl/login

I tested this across two instances of Mattermost and I got the same results.
My desktop client is Version 5.10.1 (5.10.1)
The server version is 10.4.5
Does anyone have any suggestions to how to move on?

What version is your Mattermost server? Are you aligned with Desktop releases - Mattermost documentation? Also, note that 5.10.2 and 5.11.2 are available… Desktop app changelog - Mattermost documentation

Thank you for the reply! The server is 10.4.5, and I see that the desktop client (5.10) is incompatible with 10.4. I will update the desktop client and try recreating the issue.

Update: I upgraded my Desktop Client to v5.11.2. Then the issue got resolved.
