What happens if I set the minimum password length higher

Does anyone know what happens if I set the minimum password length higher than an existing password?
Does that user have to change the password?

Existing users will not be affected by the new password requirement as it only applies to new account sign ups.

The change will only apply to existing accounts when they attempt to change the old password to a new one.

So if I want all users to have at least a 16-digit password, should I reset all passwords?

If you want to enforce the rule to all users, the answer is yes. You will have to reset all the password so the enforcement applies to every user. Let me know how it goes on your end. Thanks.
