White drag bar on the 6.0.0 Electron client

I started receiving bug reports from my Windows users at the end of last week about the latest desktop client. i couldn’t reproduce their problem, but I got the same update (on Mac) over the weekend and now I see what it is.

The drag bar at the top of the client, where the server selection dropdown and the open channel tabs are, is always a bone white colour regardless of the theme chosen. This really needs to be set to a colour that matches whatever the theme is. The users who are choosing dark themes find it annoying and distracting, and it really does look like a bug… even if it is working as intended… it seems like (at best) a poor design choice.

I encountered this too, the fix seem to be (at the moment),

File –> Settings –> Disable/Uncheck “Synchronize Desktop App theme with server”

That should reset it back to the dark / mode setup in the app.

Thanks, that seems to be a good temporary workaround.

Hopefully Mattermost fixes the themes, though.

I don’t understand what that setting is supposed to do anyway. There are no server-side theme settings as far as I can see. Or am I missing something?

Edit: Oh I see now that it’s probably referring to the profile settings at the top right.
