Now with new feature ‘Threads’ released, Reply functionality becomes very valuable, so it’s important go have UI that makes it easy to utilize it.
Similar to Mobile, it’s much easier to just select a message and view/start Thread, rather than look for small reply icon

this seems to be happening now, in mattermost 6.2 and it’s making me crazy. every time i want to select text for copy and paste, it opens the thread… i can’t find an option to turn it off.
You can go to Settings > Display Settings > Click to open threads > Off.
