I’ve noticed for some users there is a limite of how much history they can load. They keep scrolling up to see old messages until one point where the app displays loading messages but they never arrive.
In fact it gives a wierd behavior, at some point the app will auto scroll the down, making it look like something arrived but after scrolling back up you can see its still in the same place.
my guess is the ios device runs out of memory annd cannot load more messages.
@RbDev I was able to reproduce it so I’ll ask our devs about it. However, I noticed that if you slow down on the scrolling, then it will not get stuck on the same place.
@elias Do you know if these scrolling issues (on v1.11 and v1.12 iOS) are covered on the Scrolling Overhaul improvements:
Issue 1: You keep scrolling up to see old messages (e.g. 3 months back), until at some point the app will auto scroll down, making it look like older messages arrived but after scrolling back up you can see its still in the same place.
Issue: 2 Scrolling back in history in a channel very fast might eventually make the screen totally blank.
