There is a very troubling new feature I’ve noticed in recent updates where the thread/reply drawer overlaps the main content of a chat. This is ergonomically very troubling in every case I’ve seen so far when using a smaller chat window.
Is there a way to turn this functionality off at this point?
Do what the rest of us are doing and pin you version to the last LTS release until they learn to stop breaking everything.

They literally announced a breaking change in the Announcements forum, friendo.
For someone who claims they aren’t involved with Mattermost, you sure are defensive of them.
Was this particular point announced as a breaking change? I’d like to see the reference to the point if you don’t mind sharing since I obviously overlooked it.
